Magallan is a Summoner Supporter boasting a kit built around using different skills to change the functions of her drones. Being able to place her drones anywhere allows her to have global presence with her crowd control binding, short range arts attacks, or longer range physical blasts with her drones. Their hidden status for a while upon deployment allows them to be placed more aggressively, as they will not be targeted by ranged enemies. The drones can have a lot of impact for their cheap cost, only really held back by deployment limits and your own knowledge of the map you are bringing her to.

Magallan’s own stats do not matter much, however leveling her will also increase the stats of her drones. If you plan to use Magallan with her offense oriented skills, then it is beneficial to level her up higher so that they can all do a better job. If you are focusing on her simply for crowd control, it ends up being much cheaper to use her, as you no longer need to be concerned about the stats necessary for getting the most out of her damage skills.
Strengths
- Overall great and consistent crowd control capability
- Can have great damage output when properly used
- Global map presence is great for optimizing her ranged skills
Weaknesses
- Summoner playstyle is not beginner-friendly.
- If used as a damage dealer, will warrant more investment to make best use of.
Talents
Support Drone - Soaring Dragon
Can use up to 5 drones that do not block (max 3 deployed at once). Drones' effect changes based upon Skill.
A generic summoner talent that grants her the ability to summon her support drones in combat. The only real change is the amount of drones that you have available to use increases with Elite levels, up to 5 at E2, but she still possesses an innate limit of only being able to have 3 deployed at a time. This makes the talent upgrade mostly a safety net in case you lose your drones in battle, as they will then become unusable. Her abilities all recycle the drones upon ending, as carefully managing your limited supply with the recycling mechanic is key if you plan to deploy multiple at once constantly.
Optical Refraction Accessories
Drones gain Invisibility for 20 seconds after deployment (cannot be targeted by enemy ranged attacks)
This talent serves as a defensive tool for her drones that allow you to have much more leeway with their placement. The drones are given Stealth for up to 20 seconds at E2, making them no longer be targeted by enemies thus allowing for much more aggressive placements without actually risking the loss of the drone. Her skills also all last less than 20 seconds, so assuming you are only quickly placing 1-2 drones then using skill, they will be safe for that entire skill use cycle and then safely recycled before the stealth expires.

This skill is what Magallan is best known for in harder content thanks to its amazing binding crowd control. The slow periodically inflicted within their range is a great little passive stalling, but when active the Bind ends up much more powerful alongside good uptime on it. The drones are cheap to place and the skill has good cycling, thus being more lenient to use compared to the rest. In combination with her second talent, the crowd control provided by this skill is some of the best in the game.
The skill is, obviously, best used in any sort of strategy that makes use of stalling. The drones can be placed anywhere so it can be made use of to control different points of the map, group enemies up, or simply buy more time for your squad to be set up and ready for the incoming waves. This skill is the easier one to get a lot out of in general usage, as in a majority of situations only one drone needs to be dropped out of the skill’s AOE nature.

The skill’s mastery for this skill is to make the most use out of the bind by improving the uptime on it when active. It has some initial SP improvement throughout and a very small increase to the passive slow duration when at the final mastery, but those are not as notable. It remains a low priority because there are many powerful crowd control options in the game already with other benefits attached. Magallan’s usefulness has steadily declined in general and you should really only mastery the skill if you already know that she’s required for what you’re doing.

This is a simple skill that turns her drone into short ranged arts damage strikes. They have quick attacks by default already, but the massive ASPD boost and turning the attacks into splash attacks makes them fairly effective at clearing up chokes of overlapping enemies.
However, the skill makes poor use of Magallan’s greatest strength, her ability to project her chosen utility anywhere on the board. S2’s drones limiting themselves to a single tile means that you will need substantial setup for this skill to shine, being either external crowd control effects, or a unit to block enemies on that specific tile. In theory, the damage they deal can be quite respectable, but the various caveats that this skill suffers prevents it from being your first choice in a majority of situations.

This skill has a large increase in the ASPD buff and great SP reduction costs, but it still does not make the skill overall useful. It remains the least useful skill for Magallan as of yet when she is already an operator with rather limited usage. The skill isn’t recommended at all to mastery and will really only be done for fun or for some really out of nowhere strategy.

This is her skill of choice when she takes the role of a damage dealer. Drones have ranged physical splash attacks and, once her skill becomes active, receive a large ATK boost with an increase to their splash radius. This allows her to deal impressive AoE damage wherever her drones reach. This skill, again, makes use of Magallan’s main selling point of projecting her utility wherever it is needed.
The skill’s damage output is quite remarkable, especially if there is an overlap in the firing ranges of multiple drones. This gives her amazing capacity for mowing down crowds of enemies in choke points. However, the skill will require more DP usage due to increased drone cost, as well as occupation of more deploy slots. The burst and downtime structure of the skill also requires substantial prior knowledge in regards to what the map will throw at you. This is why this skill is often seen in more summoner focused clears or trust farms where it gets all the room it needs to truly shine.

The skill’s mainly known for summoner focused strategies and trust farms. It’s something still rarely used overall and mostly up to personal preference of the player. The ATK buff increase and cycle improvements with lowered SP costs makes the skill much more worthwhile, so if you see yourself making use of it in those situations then it can be worth a consideration if there’s nothing else more important to upgrade.

Drone Control Module.P
SUM-X
This module’s stage 1 grants Magallan an additional trait that’s very helpful when using her in a full team, but not that useful when used in a low op squad. Magallan can however make good use of the one additional deploy slot, especially when using her S1. Stage 2 upgraded talent can be helpful in certain situations where Magallan is exposed to taking damage—Invisibility can be extremely powerful in the right hands. The bonus stats don’t matter much as they don’t apply to her summons.

- Stage 1+

The module’s new trait doesn’t do much for optimized low op or solo clears with Magallan, but it is a worthwhile upgrade for those wanting to use her in a full team, especially if using S1 to stall. For the upgraded talent, having the option to grant invisibility to Magallan can open up many placement options. It’s something that benefits more careful planning and specialized offensive use, but could also serve as a safety option when Magallan ends up in danger. For low op or solo clears, it is going to be more niche than her Module Y.

This is a more summon-focused module in comparison to her Module X, being well suited for low op and solo clears. The lowered cost and higher summon stock can still benefit a general team, as Magallan can make for a cheap and effective damage dealer early in a stage with her S3, while the higher stock makes losing summons less punishing. Additional upgrades focus on a higher power ceiling for her summons, allowing for upwards of 4 deployed at Stage 2 and improving their stats at stage 3, the former mattering more in specialized clears while the latter can still benefit a more general team.

While this module doesn’t change Magallan’s playstyle, it’s a great upgrade for those who enjoy using her in low op or solo clears. The decreased cost and additional stored summons lend themselves well towards making Magallan’s low op playstyle easier for less experienced players. The lowered DP cost helps in stages with DP constraints, while the increased number of stored summons means players don’t have to worry as much when losing a summon to enemies instead of recycling it with her skill. Stages 2 and 3 are a good investment for those who enjoy using Magallan and wish to make her more powerful, but come at a steep cost for a playstyle that doesn’t benefit many.
Synergy
Skadi the Corrupting Heart
Skadi can help in a multitude of ways due to how Skadi’s own kit is, especially considering her own summon. She can provide regeneration healing, on top of easy ATK and DEF buffing. This allows you to, in the case that the stealth is not enough, use her to keep drones alive more easily and sustained a bit. The Seaborn summon can also be placed anywhere around the map, meaning that Magallan constantly placing drones elsewhere and in new places once recycled isn’t a problem for Skadi. Assuming you want to juice up your drones more, then this is a notable synergy of the two together.
