Akafuyu is a Musha Guard with the ability to both make use of a high peak DPS with 0 block, or having lower DPS but ease of use with greater survivability. The latter is what sets her apart from the rest of the archetype, but it does end up being less desirable than just DPS overall.

The biggest stat difference between Akafuyu and the other Musha Guards is that Akafuyu has a somewhat higher DEF stat peak thanks to her trust and Potential 3 stat gain.
Strengths
- Quick skill cycling makes her easy to use
- Strong potential survivability compared to rest of archetype
Weaknesses
- Weaker against Arts damage
- Self-sustain and power ceiling highly dependent on Promotion Level.
- Can only self-sustain while fighting
Talents
Nobukage-ryu - Hatobu
Increases ASPD based on lost HP (Reaches max boosted ASPD +100 when below 30% HP)
The same first talent that all Musha guards have and what allows her to reach a high theoretical DPS output (potentially doubling it). Thus, you usually want her to get low on health to optimize her damage output.

Cannot block enemies, ATK +80%, and attacks turn into double strikes
The skill has a much higher power ceiling than S2 but it’s a lot more setup dependent due to its 0-block and multi-hit nature. This means Akafuyu will quickly gain back health and her DPS will quickly drop if she is no longer taking damage. Because of this, the skill works as a quick burst of DPS if properly set up, but will fall off hard over time against most enemies. Despite the quick falloff, the skill’s DPS without talent built up is comparable to S2 at peak. This means the main factor that will cause you to lose out on damage is if enemies get past her too quickly due to 0-block.

S1 masteries are all very linear in gain, but Akafuyu herself is overall a low priority operator so, if mastering her, do M1 at most, as it is good enough while still being fairly cheap. The ATK gain will be overall more noticeable than with S2 masteries thanks to the multi-hit.

Immediately loses 50% current HP and gain 1 Shield (disappears when the skill ends), ATK +100%, DEF +120%
The skill remedies its lower potential and overall DPS with the HP loss allowing for better optimization of Akafuyu’s talent. S2 comes with nice ATK and DEF buffs that allow Akafuyu to have good damage and survivability. The shield layer is a nice bonus, allowing her to also use it as a potential panic button and to buy time for her to recover health. It’s simple, effective, and gives Akafuyu some good survivability, but that survivability can be a bad thing since it means most enemies will have a harder time damaging her, meaning her DPS will fall off just as with S1, although not as quickly.
Skill Mastery

S2 ends up being a jack of all trades and master of none with its one more unique aspect, the shield, having no gain from masteries. They are linear with little to no impact making it hard to recommend anything.
Synergy
Aak & Warfarin
While Musha guards do not need buffs that much, these two buffers can do it while lowering their HP for higher DPS. This allows Akafuyu and the branch in general to get the most out of the talent.
Skadi the Corrupting Heart
This branch generally does not want to be healed constantly. Luckily, Skadi can be placed far away and only have her summon dropped for support when advantageous. This can be for the HP regeneration, stat buffing, or both. It's a very nice option to have because it is easy to use and can help the rest of your team at the same time, making it practical to use in general content.
